GSA has announced their deadline & guidelines for conference funding this year.
In order to receive funds for conference travel a student or organization must submit an application to GSA senate by the deadline listed below. The department of the student or organization must be represented in GSA senate in order for the student or organization to receive funding.
Qualified students or organizations are eligible to receive funding in the Fall and Spring semester. Apply only if you have exhausted or attempted to receive funds elsewhere (Chapman Travel Grant and/or Research Office grants). Funds are dispersed on a first come, first serve basis. In the case of limited funding, students who have not received funding from GSA in the past will receive priority.
Funds will be distributed based on the following:
· Funds available to GSA
· Cost for conference travel submitted to GSA senate
· Nature of conference
· Whether or not the person/organization requesting the funds is presenting (student must be presenting in order to receive funds)
· Location of conference relative to the University of Tulsa
· Official conference information (documents must be submitted along with application to be considered)
GSA Research Allocation Committee will meet and make the decision of whether or not to disperse funds for conference travel.
Expenses eligible for funding:
· Miscellaneous expenses (Lodging expenses will not be funded)
*Application will be available on GSA website (www.orgs.utulsa.edu/gsa).
Due date for fall semester:
Monday, September 26, 2011.
Due date for Spring semester:
Friday, January 27, 2012 by 5pm.
Research Office, University of Tulsa
Funds for conference expenses and travel can also be sought from TU’s Research Office. Completed applications for the Student Research Grant Program must be received in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (McClure Hall 201) by 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2011, in order to be eligible for support during the Fall 2011 semester. The applications will be reviewed and awards for the period will be made by Friday, September 23, 2011. The Student Research grant guidelines and updated application form can be found on the Research web site at
Please read the guidelines carefully and answer ALL the questions on the updated application form. Incomplete applications, i.e., those missing information, cannot be considered for funding! We encourage you to call Debra Owen at x2714 or via e-mail at email@example.com if you have any questions.
